Interiors

The Umbria luxury retreat is divided into two main buildings. These are the ancient church and the farmhouse. The church now houses a large, bright drawing room which has vaulted ceilings with exposed beams and walls in local pale-grey stone. There are also plenty of comfortable sofas, and a grand piano. In this part of the property you’ll moreover find the property’s large kitchen. It has a traditional tiled floor and all the kitchenware you need to prepare your own delicious meals. In addition to this, you will find an elegant dining room. The farmhouse has 8 bedrooms, all beautifully decorated. Five of these are doubles boasting en suite bathrooms finished with modern touches. Furthermore there is a further double bedroom and a single bedroom (with its own basin). These also share a bathroom and the final single bedroom has its own basin.

Exteriors

The spectacular Umbria luxury retreat is a unique property. It is an 11th century church and 18th century farmhouse in the most idyllic countryside location. The house nestles among gently sloping green hills close to Lake Trasimeno. It thus commands breathtaking views over the surrounding landscape. Situated within a private estate close to Mount Tezio in the heart of Umbria, this property is only 20 minutes north of the lovely historical city of Perugia, close to the borders of Tuscany. The estate includes ancient olive groves and vineyards. In addition guests will find as well a forest well-known for truffles. The main buildings of the complex were lovingly restored in 2012 using high-quality local materials to create a luxurious property that blends harmoniously with its natural surroundings.

Location

This property is ideally situated for those looking to explore the natural beauty of the region. The peaceful valley where the Umbria Luxury retreat is located is just north of Monte Subasio and the pretty town of Assisi. To the west there is the ancient castle of Antognolla. Meanwhile to the north you will find endless stretches of woodland and the mountain ranges of the Appenines. This area is famous for its plentiful wildlife, including deer and wild boar, and the nearby Lake Trasimeno is a water sport and fishing haven. The nearest village to the property is Pierantonio, at only a 10 minute drive, and within 15 minutes you can reach Umbertide, the nearest small town, so shops and facilities are easily accessible.
