Torre Pozzelle Beach
A sequence of rocky coves and small beaches along Puglia’s Adriatic coast.

Torre Pozzelle is a stretch of Adriatic coast south of Ostuni, known for a sequence of small coves separated by low rocky outcrops and Mediterranean vegetation. The landscape is relatively open and natural, but the individual coves differ in size, seabed and seasonal services.

The coves and shoreline
Torre Pozzelle is not one long beach of uniformly soft sand. It is a group of compact inlets where patches of sand alternate with rock. Sea entry can be gentle in some spots and awkward in others, so water shoes can be useful.
Conditions change with wind and waves. Clear water on a calm day does not guarantee safe swimming, and lifeguards should not be assumed at every cove. Families should choose their entry point carefully and supervise children, particularly around rocks.

Torre Pozzelle Beach
The coastal tower
The name comes from the historic watchtower overlooking the coast. It formed part of the defensive network built to monitor this section of the Adriatic. The tower is a landmark, not a public panoramic terrace: visitors should not assume that its interior or roof can be entered.

Facilities and access
The area does not have a continuous promenade lined with restaurants. Commercial services are limited and can change between seasons or operate from nearby private facilities. Bring drinking water, sun protection and anything needed for the day, then remove all waste.
Parking is regulated during the summer and must be limited to authorised areas. Seasonal coastal buses have operated between Ostuni, Villanova and Torre Pozzelle, but routes and timetables are revised. Check the latest coastal transport and parking notices on the official Municipality of Ostuni website.
Do not drive or park on dunes, vegetation or unofficial tracks. Follow signs governing fires, litter, animals and access to the shore. The Municipality may identify specific free-beach sections where dogs are permitted under stated conditions; this does not mean pets are unrestricted along the entire coastline.
Swimming and snorkelling
The rocky sections can be interesting for independent snorkelling in calm weather, but no guided tour, equipment hire or marine-life sighting is guaranteed. Check visibility and sea conditions, use suitable equipment and avoid entering the water alone in exposed conditions.
Planning your visit
Early morning is usually the simplest time to find authorised parking in summer. Shade is limited, and paths from parking areas may be rough. The historic centre of Ostuni is inland and should be planned as a separate stop rather than described as part of the beach.
Why visit
Torre Pozzelle appeals to visitors looking for small, mostly natural coves rather than a fully equipped resort beach. A good visit depends on realistic expectations: mixed sand and rock, limited services, seasonal access measures and careful respect for the coastal environment.
