Lake Trasimeno
A broad Umbrian lake surrounded by islands, historic towns and gentle countryside.
A venture developed by Reinhold Traxl and his better half Astrid, this 250m2 hangar has been recently converted into a stunning contemporary property filled with unique art-pieces and design furniture. While still being very true to the industrial architecture, the huge glass walls allow the space be bright and luminous, making sure the view from the Tuscan countryside is accessible from all corners.
The open layout unites the living room, dining room and kitchen into a unique main room where the focal point is clear – the open fireplace designed by Australian Australian artist David McKee invites guests to enjoy a dapper get-together. A number of eye-catching art pieces can be discovered hanging on the bricks, wood and concrete walls, as well as tucked away in least expected angles.
In this space, the downstairs wine cellar is a delightful surprise right bellow the bar area – where vintage barbershop chairs accomodate guests right next to the fully equipped kitchen area, which can be easily tucked away by simply closing down the main countertop.
Designed to hold up to 4 guests, the property has 2 ensuite bedrooms with, as if the rain showers weren’t enough, access to a major 200x100cm bathtub as well as the outdoor shower.
With design items spread across the outside space, the remarkable 20m long swimming pool takes full advantage of the stunning scenery, boasting its own very stylish container washroom. Right outside, the porch is warmed up with the presence of two leather lounge chairs.
Sitting in the core of the ‘Crete Senesi’ area, the Hangar has a wonderful view of Southern Tuscany’s, including the acclaimed Val d’Orcia region, and is right between some of the region’s hidden beauties, such the Monte Oliveto Maggiore Abbey and villages of Chiusure and San Giovanni s’Asso. A one-our drive separates the villa from Siena, Montalcino, Pienza, Montepulciano and other Tuscan cities. At only 2km from Montisi, the villa enjoys the vestiges of the medieval Montelifré.
Included in the price is a concierge service and daily cleaning. Among the available extras services offered for this villa daily breakfast, private chef, wine tasting and cooking classes, massages, yoga lessons and private driver.
