“An oasis of luxury and relaxation in an ancient 17th century building. Unforgettable views over the Tuscan hills and an idyllic atmosphere”
This prestigious villa was originally a lookout guard tower dating back to the first half of the 1600. Built by Ferdinando II de Medici, the property has been recently renovated with taste and attention to the original atmosphere. The villa features a large living room with terracotta floors and exposed wooden ceilings, a characteristic dining room with an antique fireplace, a TV corner and a spacious, fully equipped kitchen. The villa can accommodate up to 10 Guests in 5 double bedrooms, all with air conditioning. Four bedrooms are located on the first floor of the villa: there are 2 double bedrooms (one can be converted in a twin bedroom), and 2 twin bedrooms (which can be converted in two double bedrooms). All the rooms in the main villa have an en-suite bathroom. The tower has a separate entrance. Here Guests will find a small sitting room and a bathroom with shower on the ground floor, and a double bedroom on the first floor featuring a large terrace and a splendid view over the valley.
Surrounded by a fabulous 2-hectare garden planted with olive trees, the villa boasts magestic views over the green hills of Valtiberina. The panoramic swimming pool (depth 150 cm, 6×12 mts) is equipped with sunbeds and parasols. A gazebo offers a romantic shady corner ideal for relaxing. Next to the pool there is a fabulous Jacuzzi. At a lower garden level is the patio with “al fresco” dining table for 10 people. The garden is filled with roses, lavender and rosemary bushes, organic peach and plum trees where Guests can pick fresh fruit straight from the tree, a real luxury in these times. Sports enthusiasts will find a football field (for 5), a ping pong table and several spectacular trails in the oak woods surrounding the property.
This beautiful Villa stands in the Valtiberina valley, the eastern part of Tuscany, a true natural paradise and a crossroads of cultural influences (Umbria is a short distance away). The nearest village to the villa is Monterchi (2 km), famous for its frescoes by Piero della Francesca. Arezzo is 15 minutes by car and Cortona half an hour. Gubbio, in Umbria, is 67 km away, and Montepulciano, in Tuscany, 77 km. Florence is 120 kms from the villa.
