Interiors

The owners of our luxury Como Lake villa renovated it fully in 2012, while maintaining the beautiful original features. The marble and terracotta flooring is set off by the carefully-chosen pieces of antique furniture. The villa can sleep up to 11 guests in 5 double bedrooms and one single. All of these have en suite bathrooms, and there is a further bathroom available. There are five bedrooms with twin or king-size double beds. The final bedroom has a single bed. Each bedroom has air-conditioning, as well as satellite TV, a safe and its own private terrace.

As guests enter the villa on the ground floor they will find a large entrance hall which leads on to the drawing room. Here there are comfortable sofas and a fireplace. The dining room is spacious, with a grand fireplace and a large dining table. These two rooms offer absolutely breathtaking views out over the lake. The equally spacious kitchen provides a further fireplace and a wood-fired pizza oven. There is one double bedroom with terrace on this floor.

On the first floor guests will find four further bedrooms. All have individual en suites with showers and private terraces. On the floor above, guests will find the sixth bedroom, which is a single, once more with an en suite and terrace. Guests also have a mini spa available with an aromatherapy shower and a steam room that seats up to 8, as well as a wine cellar and tasting area. The house also has a centralised heating and air conditioning system. Guests can make use of the library, as well as the extensive movie and music collection, and children’s games are provided. There is WiFi throughout the villa and a laundry facility available. Two cribs and high chairs are also available. The villa is very secure, with an alarm system throughout.

The staff lives in a separate apartment in the villa’s garden to ensure the best service and absolute privacy for the guests.

Exteriors

Villa Sophia sits in a large and beautiful landscaped garden (3000 sqm) with a manicured lawn and pretty flowerbeds. The uninterrupted views from the garden and pool out over Lake Como are truly magical, and you can also enjoy them from the villa’s outdoor dining area. The swimming pool is surrounded by a sun terrace with sun beds, parasols and shower, and there are sofas and chairs scattered throughout the garden. Guests will also find a barbecue and table and chairs, perfectly positioned to enjoy the beautiful sunsets over the water. There is covered parking for two cars in the villa’s private garage.

Location

The location of this luxury Lake Como Villa is unbeatable. Set on the west shore of the lake, it is just 800 metres from the pretty sandy beach of Argegno Lido. A few minutes’ walk on from here guests will find Pigra and Argegno-Cima della Duaria. Here there are charming bars, coffee shops and restaurants, as well as shops and a pharmacy. This area is one of the most exclusive in Italy, with local properties owned by George Clooney and several other VIPs.

Guests can also use the ferry dock here to travel to other lakeside destinations, Bellagio and Como. In the car, it is a 15 minute drive to the town of Como with its beautiful cathedral and Lido di Lenno beach. At a 30 minute drive guests can reach Lugano, and the nearest golf course and train station. Milano’s Malpensa airport can be reached in a 60 minute drive.
