Interiors

This Rome countryside luxury villa can sleep up to 16-17 guests. Its spacious interiors have lavish furnishings in a classic and elegant style with several modern touches. The property also features high wooden vaulted ceilings and large bay windows. These fill the rooms with light and offer stunning views out over the surrounding countryside. Marble floors are decorated with soft Persian rugs, and ancient statues stand alongside examples of modern sculpture. This display combines this villa’s unforgettable heritage with the luxury and convenience of a renovated country house. Additionally there is a library available for guests. It has a window seat and several comfortable sofas, perfect for curling up in a corner with a book. There are seven bedrooms. Six of these have double beds and one has two separate beds with the possibility of adding a third.

In addition, each bedroom has its own bathroom inside the room. Furthermore there are two further bathrooms in the property. Each of the castle’s bedrooms have comfortable double beds and plenty of storage. You will also find two fully-equipped kitchens and five beautiful living rooms. In addition the entire property has air conditioning. You will find all modern amenities available such as satellite television, dvd players and a Hi Fi system. There is also a barbecue available in the garden of the property.

Exteriors

As you wander the carefully-landscaped gardens surrounding the house and castle, a sense of hushed splendour will transport you back to the dawn of this villa’s ancient history. The tumbling, wisteria-clad ruins of the ancient castle, built in the twelfth century, loom over the neat green lawns and fragrant borders of a traditional English garden, complete with elegant furnished terraces perfect for afternoon tea with an Italian twist. Wild flower gardens surround the ruins of an old church. These are crossed by trickling streams and dotted with caves and grottos to explore. The meandering remains of the original tower and its surroundings hold several surprises. These include a secret garden with a pond of water lilies and a beautiful swimming pool nestled inside the walls of the ancient castle itself.

Furthermore the property is situated only 5 minutes from a nearby tennis court, and guests can enjoy horse riding within the 500-hectare park of the estate.

Location

This Rome countryside luxury villa is located about 50km from Rome. It is one of the most magical and exclusive properties in Italy. A stunning castle and estate tucked away between the medieval towns of Cori, Velletri and Cisterna di Latina, this luxurious villa is truly a fairytale come to life. This 510-hectare property nestles amongst woodland, and has a fascinating history. Roman ruins sprinkle across the estate, and the medieval castle first appeared in writing in the 1102 papal bull. It passed through the hands of some of Italy’s most famous (and infamous) noble families. This includes the Borgia and the Borghese. Prince Carlo Caracciolo then renovated it in the 1990s.

This beautiful villa and estate is convenient for visits to many stunning natural attractions too. It is close to the Circeo National Park that follows the coastline of Lazio, taking in Anzio and Terracina. Finally the nearby and world-renowned Giardini di Ninfa are utterly breathtaking, designed in a similar style to the estate’s own gardens, and their ethereal beauty is the perfect backdrop for a summer picnic.
