“Perched on the volcanic island of Alicudi, the wildest of the Aeolian Archipelago, this ravishing house will pamper you with its spectacular views over the Mediterranean and its timeless atmosphere”
The island of Alicudi, the smallest of the Aeolian Islands, is not for everyone, but lovers of slow living will fall in love with it. Alicudi is a tiny island with a lovely little port, one bar and a small market. There are no cars, ATMs, butchers, nor public lighting. Donkeys are used to reach the houses from the port, and to taste the delicious local cuisine you have to sit at a social table. The houses have no address, to find them you have to count the number of steps that divide them from the sea. The main beaches of Alicudi are next to the port, where you can also rent a boat to visit the coast or the other islands of the archipelago. If you wake up early in the morning it is also possible to go fishing with Silvio, the historical fisherman of the island.
The house is a 15 minute walk from the small port of Alicudi and the sea.
This newly-restored Alicudi house has tasteful interiors that stay in touch with the traditions of the island. The house can comfortably accommodate 4 people in two double rooms. From the terrace, the Villa overlooks a panoramic view of the beautiful Sicilian landscape. The Villa offers two double bedrooms and a large bathroom. The kitchen, located on the bottom floor, is shared with the owner, who lives in the studio below and is happy to provide guests with a daily breakfast service. This traditional Aeolian kitchen features an electric oven and three gas burners. Newly refurbished, the house has retained a typically Aeolian atmosphere. The finer details include the tiled floors and handmade Italian furnishings.
This one-in-a-kind aeolian Villa expresses the authentic and forgotten charme of these unparalleled islands.
This charming Alicudi house exhibits two stunning terraces. The first terrace features a traditional arched structure and is located in front of the kitchen, downstairs. This terrace also has a dining table and a masonry washbasin typical of the archipelago houses. You will find the second terrace in front of the bedrooms; it boasts stunning sea views. This is thus the place to have a drink at sunset or under the summer stars.
