Giora House | Filicudi, Sicily

This elegant and spacious villa is located in the southern part of Filicudi Island next to Pecorini Port. It is a very typical Filicudara Villa that once was named the house of pomegranate tree. The owner gives to the villa his personal creativity as he is a passionate art collector. The villa has a spectacular patio with white columns overlooking the Mediterranean sea and in the distance Sicily. There is also in front of the house a beautiful garden full of Lemon Three.

Interiors

The first tasteful room has a masonry bed with mosquito net and wooden cupboard. The dominate color of this room are white and blue. The french window is a typical architectural feature of the Eolian Islands houses. This room as an en-suite Bordeaux bathroom made inside a cave/grotto. The color of the bathroom is the same as the Sicilian majolicas.

The second room has in the center a masonry king size bed, a large wall wooden library painted in dark blue. There are also unique artworks by the most famous contemporary artist. Also this room has an en-suite bathroom made by cement and sicilian majolicas.

The third room has a beautiful canoe hanged on the ceiling (artwork), wooden Sicilian door as table with chairs, a masonry bed and a wardrobe. The en-suite bathroom with shower has the classic eolian style.

The fourth room is the only one that looks like a living room. The very comfortable sofa is a “turcheria” that turns into a bed in case of need. At the corner there is a fireplace that has been made with piece of wood picked from the beach, at the opposite corner there is a wooden table with chairs. A few steps leads you to the bathroom that also has shower.

The kitchen is very well equipped as the owner has a passion for cooking. There is professional gas stove, oven, fridge, freezer.

Following the “mulattiera” on the top level there is the jewel of the villa: the most panoramic bedroom with wrought iron bed with en-suite bathroom. from this room you can access the roof where it is wonderful to look at the stars by night.

Exteriors

The garden is covered by lemon trees as Filicudi island was once famous for the production of citrus. The vegetation is composed by cactus and bougainvillea (typical plants of the island). The patio is the ideal place where you can relax and enjoy hammocks between columns and white benches.
