Interiors

This property near Tropea consists of three structures, which total 1830 square feet: the main house and two guest houses. The main villa is where guests will find the living areas and kitchen, which open up onto the beautiful sun terrace, with an outdoor dining area. The living space has multiple sitting areas, including a long dining table, an expansive lounge area and individual sitting zones. There is also a fireplace, around which guests can enjoy cosy evenings amongst friends. The kitchen is equipped with modern appliances and has several windows to let fresh air into the space. This main structure also houses the master bedroom with a queen-size bed and an ensuite, as well as a second smaller bedroom, with a queen-size bed and ensuite. Both of these can be converted into twin rooms if requested. Each of the two guest houses has a queen or twin room (as requested) and a bathroom. One of the bathrooms has the unique feature of a removed roof, so that guests can experience the joy of the clear sky, or the stars, above their heads. This family-friendly property is strictly non-smoking, and is equipped with air conditioning and internet. You will find screens on all windows throughout the house.

Exteriors

This villa is built on top of the cliff-coastline of Calabria, overlooking the beautiful Capo Vaticano beach and shoreline. It lies within a gated compound that is protected from the mass-construction that has spread across much of the Italian peninsula. Instead, nature is preserved in a green haven right by the Sea. From the villa, guests can enjoy stunning views of the Mediterranean as well as the Aeolian Islands, just off the coast of nearby Sicily, and home to the famous Stromboli volcano, to the west. Nothing beats a sunset from this vantage point, as the sun goes down directly behind the volcano. The villa itself has a charming outdoor terrace and dining area, from which you can savour all the sights in the surroundings, and take in the beautiful light in both morning and evening settings. There is also a shaded lounge area, for a more relaxed atmosphere. FInally, the villa also features a long pool (3×15.5 metres) that blends the border of the property with the Mediterranean itself. Equipped with an adjacent relaxation area with a hammock, this is the perfect spot to cool down on a hot summer’s day. The compound also enjoys private beach access to the sandy shore below. Parking facilities are available to Guests.

Location

A part of Italy less travelled and thus untouched by mass tourism, Calabria is full of untamed coasts, traditional food, and rambling vineyards. In Capo Vaticano, towns are small and traditional and the main attractions are the many smaller (and often private) slices of paradisiacal sandy beaches, nestled into the otherwise rocky coastline. For day trips, however, visitors can take in the ornate churches and hidden trattorias of Tropea, or even head to the city of Reggio Calabria, which has a charming seafront promenade, from which you can see all the way to Sicily. Do not miss a visit to the enchanting town of Tropea, the pearl of Calabria, overlooking the blue sea. The closest airport is Lamezia, about an hour’s drive from the villa.
