“Dating back to the 19th century, this property has been carefully renovated as to stay true to its origins. Surrounded by Umbria’s breathtaking countryside, the villa exhales the idilic image of central Italy”.
Constructed in the 19th century as an autonomous farmhouse, the villa was renovated and invigorated in the late 2000’s but kept the style very true to the traditional structure. Built with stona lava, the villa is decorated with very elegant and classical wooden furniture, as to reflect the property’s country house sensitivity.
Split into two stories, in the first floor an ample dining room with a long wooden table overlooks the greenery that surrounds the villa. Right beside it is the spacious, fully equipped kitchen, where a beautiful table accommodates guests for a cozy breakfast and other informal meals. From there, the access to the outside leads directly to the porch. Also in the first floor lie the intimate living room – complete with the villa’s stunning original fireplace – as well as large bedroom with a double bed and an ensuite bathroom.
The second floor is accessible from two inner staircases and, additionally, from an outer stone staircase which leads you directly to the suite – a spacious bedroom with an ensuite bathroom, an alluring fireplace, a double bed, armchairs and a small work station. From there guests can reach the villa’s second living space, where 3 sofas and an entertainment center (with TV and stereo) embrace them by the fireplace. In this floor lie also the other 3 bedrooms, all with double beds and ensuite bathroom.
With 7 hectares (approximately 17,5 acres), the property is encompassed by nature. The outside patio – furnished with an long table and seats for in open air meals – holds the ancient wood-burning oven, where previous inhabitants would make bread for the neighbors back in the 19th century. An infinity 14×7 meters swimming pool calls out guests to enjoy warm summer days by the sun beds. Other dining space is set outside under a canopy, with table and chairs, as well a fridge and stereo. Two hectares of the property are fenced and well behaved dogs are welcome.
The villa is just 15 min drive from Orvieto, notorious for its well-maintained medieval structure and exquisite restaurants and local shops. It is also at a one hour drive from Rome, and a few minutes from other delightful medieval villages.
Painting and cooking lessons as well as guest chef are some of the extra services provided in the villa. In the region, guests are also welcome to try the local wine-tasting routes as well as practice outdoor activities such as hose-back riding.
