Interiors

Modern comfort and elegant tradition come together beautifully in the Crete Senesi Design Farmhouse. This historic farmhouse has been fully refurbished on the inside; stylish minimalist interiors provide guests with true modern comfort. At the same time, the property’s original sandstone walls allow it to retain a sense of tradition and to blend in seamlessly with the surrounding Tuscan landscape. The Farmhouse is separated in to five units, together sleeping up to 18 guests.

The main unit has some particularly lovely communal areas, elegantly decorated with neutral and wood tones. To the left of the large entrance hall, guests will find a spacious living room, which enjoys a privileged view out on to the terrace and garden. Opposite this is the dining room, furnished with a long wooden dining table, which sits up to fourteen people. The L-shaped kitchen is fully equipped and is filled with natural light during the day: the perfect spot to leisurely prepare a traditional Tuscan dish. Four double bedrooms and four bathrooms are located in this first unit.

The second unit sleeps four guests. It has a comfortable living room, off which there is a kitchen-cum-dining room. From here, guests have direct access out on to a covered terrace on one side, and on to a small private garden on the other. The garden has a manicured lawn and provides an additional outdoor dining area. Two double bedrooms and three bathrooms are located in this second unit.

The third unit is a small apartment located on the first floor of the farmhouse. A small kitchen is integrated in the dining room. Just off this space there is sitting room, which can be converted into a single bedroom if need be. The apartment has one double bedroom and two bathrooms.

The fourth unit is located on the ground floor, directly below the third unit. It too has a small kitchen-cum-dining room, which leads out on to a terrace area, from which guests can enjoy stunning views out on to rolling green hills. A sitting room, one double bedroom and two bathrooms are found in this unit.

The fifth unit comfortably sleeps two people. It is It is equipped with a small kitchen, a double bedroom and a bathroom.

Exteriors

The farmhouse takes the shape of a U, at the centre of which there is a stretch of gravel, which is dotted with various seating areas. The farmhouse is bordered on the outside by a manicured lawn, separated in to small private gardens for each unit.

The real highlight of the Crete Senesi Design Farmhouse’s exteriors is its infinity swimming pool, which looks out on to the lush green Tuscan landscape. Sun loungers line each end of the pool. An additional dining area is located opposite the pool, under the shade of a pergola. The long dining table sits up to ten people and is a lovely space to enjoy an alfresco dinner.

Location

The Farmhouse is located in the heart of the Crete Senesi area, in the south of Tuscany, famous for its clay soil and picturesque rolling green countryside. The area hosts various festivals throughout the year, including the Mille Miglia Classic Car Race in May and numerous classical music festivals during the summer. The villa itself is just a short drive away from Asciano. This walled hill town is made up of pretty stone architecture, some of which dates as far back as to the 11th Century.

The property is ideally located for those wishing to explore the famous Val D’Orcia area of Tuscany: home to picturesque vineyards and delicious red wines. The iconic towns of Montalcino, Pienza, Montepulciano and Siena are all within a thirty minute drive from the farmhouse.
